Given all the information provided so far, I'm pretty sure this man appearing in Desmond's mind is Sixteen! The clothing matches the blurred picture in the AC Encyclopedia.

Characters belong to Ubisoft.

It's not acually. I'm playing the game and this is confirmed to be Clay Kaczmarek aka the man they call Subject Sixteen. William Miles can be seen at the end of the game and he looks completely different. He looks a bit like an older Desmond with a different eye color.

Well, we know both he and Desmond descent from Altaïr. So maybe Darim was the next in line?

Well, apparently not. I recently unlocked Desmond's geneology chart on multiplayer and it states that Sef is his ancestor, not Darim (the book mentioned he was already married and had kids before he died, so it's possible).

Do you think that Desmond's face is distorted because the Animus iis mixing up him, Ezio and Altair? Thats what I'm hearing. Because they all look waaaaayyy to different for it JUST to be the new facial graphics that they used (Like in L.A Noire I heard)

I think that may be the case. I mean, did you see the earlt trailers? Desmond really looked more like, well, himself there.

Exactly what I was thinking. He does look like a bit of a mashup of the 3 in the newer one. Even Ezio looks really different >_> (Maybe Altair)
Especially looks more like himself in the trapped in the animus trailer, and the dubstep trailer (even though we only get a peak of him there)
